More About Me

Computers and computer courses have been a part of my life since early childhood.

Like all kids of the 1980's, I had exposure to the general computers of the time. At school we had the Apple II E and at home we had a standard Texas Instruments computer. We had to create simple codes to make the computer do little tricks and even had to memorize 'run codes' to get it to do anything at all.

In the 4th grade, I went to a week long Computer Camp at Liberty University where we learned more handy tricks and coding.

High School: The computers of the 1991-1994 period were still pretty darn crude by today's standards. But at least the internet had started to take off and the monitors were getting away from the "green screen" and "orange screen" models and now had color. Going to a private school (Fishburne Military) meant that we did have a lot of 'one on one' with the teacher and I learned a great deal. I took two computer courses in high school and aced them both.

College: In college, I began taking simple html layout courses and Photoshop courses. Although I didn't major in computers, my major was business, I took quite a few courses. I started making my own fun websites for entertainment purposes as I worked as a bartender/server at a sports bar in Virginia. I finished several more computer courses and after getting offers here and there by various people to make websites for them, I realized there was a need for designers and it paid pretty well. I started a site called simplesitedesign.com; with the premise that hiring someone to build a site for you should be painless and affordable. Over time, as the projects grew more complex and detailed, the name Simple Site Design didn't explain well enough what I did. So, I created Olympus Web and upon moving back to Florida in 2005, I created PalmBayDesign.com.

We now have over 50 regular clients and have built over 200 sites and remodeled dozens more. I now employ a programmer and have other graphic designers to accomplish the work load.
